About Fusion

Fusion by North27 is an integration platform built for schools, trusts and groups that need their MIS, Google Workspace and surrounding systems to stay aligned. It acts as a managed data integration layer (ETL - Extract, Transform, Load), connecting APIs and automating how users, classes, groups and calendars are created and kept in sync - reducing manual admin so teams can focus on teaching and operations.

Designed for education, Fusion brings together MIS partnerships (such as Arbor, iSAMS, SIMS and Bromcom), Google Workspace, CRM and admissions tooling, and bespoke integrations where you need them. The platform has evolved with real school requirements - from administrator tooling to full sync, trust-wide search and annual rollover.

Delivered as a managed SaaS service with support for batch changes and one-off tasks, Fusion scales from single schools to large trusts and keeps data flowing reliably as your organisation grows.

Use cases

Explore common ways schools and trusts use Fusion to connect systems, automate data flows and reduce manual administration.

Implementation

From standard MIS-to-Google setup through to custom integration delivery.

1

Standard setup

For established workflows, we configure Fusion around your MIS/SIS, Google Workspace and preferred sync behaviour, then run a dry-run sanity check before go-live.

2

Validation & training

We review the dry-run output with your team, refine configuration where needed, and provide training so administrators understand how Fusion behaves day to day.

3

Custom integration delivery

For bespoke integrations, we define the data dictionary, test cases and acceptance process, then project manage the work through build, validation and completion.

FAQ

Does Fusion remove students as well as add them?

Yes. Fusion supports both "hard" and "soft" sync modes. In hard sync, students are added and removed automatically to match your MIS. In soft sync, students are only added.

Does Fusion remove staff/teachers as well as add them?

Yes - the same logic applies. In hard sync, staff are added and removed automatically. In soft sync, staff are only added.

Which teachers does Fusion sync add?

By default, Fusion syncs staff defined as the academic lead for each course. In addition, a central "super teacher" can be assigned, allowing full visibility and management of classrooms across the organisation.

Once enabled, does the sync only run for the current academic year?

Fusion syncs against the current academic year and keeps data up to date through scheduled re-syncs. Sync frequency and behaviour can be tailored to reflect how often your data changes. At year-end, Fusion provides a rollover mode, allowing you to preview upcoming classrooms and decide how they should be handled - including merging, renaming or reusing existing classes.

What is the Google Classroom naming convention?

Naming is fully configurable in Fusion and can be tailored to your organisation. Typically, it includes elements such as subject, set and teacher, depending on your MIS and preferences.

Can a teacher rename their Google Classroom?

No - manual changes will be reverted by the next sync. However, alternative naming approaches can be configured centrally if required.

How often does the sync run?

Typically twice per day, though this can be increased depending on your requirements.

Get Started with Fusion

From understanding your setup to go-live.

How we get you live

We start by understanding your setup and confirming how your data should flow between systems.

We then configure the integration and run a test sync so you can review exactly what will be created and updated. If anything needs adjusting, we refine it together.

Once you're happy, we agree the sync schedule and go live - after that, everything runs automatically.

Most setups are quick to get live, with more complex environments taking a little longer to validate properly.
