Fusion Platform Classrooms: managed classes table with search, filters, and roster columns

About Fusion

Fusion by North27 is an integration platform built for schools, trusts and groups that need their MIS, Google Workspace and surrounding systems to stay aligned. It acts as a managed data integration layer (ETL - Extract, Transform, Load), connecting APIs and automating how users, classes, groups and calendars are created and kept in sync - reducing manual admin so teams can focus on teaching and operations.

Designed for education, Fusion brings together MIS partnerships (such as Arbor, iSAMS, SIMS and Bromcom), Google Workspace, CRM and admissions tooling, and bespoke integrations where you need them. The platform has evolved with real school requirements - from administrator tooling to full sync, trust-wide search and annual rollover.

Delivered as a managed SaaS service with support for batch changes and one-off tasks, Fusion scales from single schools to large trusts and keeps data flowing reliably as your organisation grows.

Features

Fully managed SaaS, then deep links to Google Classroom, Groups, Calendar and Gmail - plus trust-wide admin, integrations and rollover. Need something bespoke? Talk to us and we'll help you scope it.

SaaS platform & support

Fusion is a cloud SaaS service - we run the infrastructure and do the heavy lifting so your team does not have to. Our support team helps with batch tasks, one-off changes and anything else we can take off your plate as part of your relationship with us.

Google Classroom

Create classes from your MIS, automatically assign teachers, invite parents, and add or remove students and staff - full sync so Classroom matches your management system without manual upkeep.

Google Groups

Bring through the groups that exist in your MIS, plus Fusion-defined groups on the fly - room groups, tutor groups, and other group types as you need them.

Google Calendar

Sync timetable and events from the MIS into Google: the class teacher owns the event, students are added as attendees automatically, with no day-to-day intervention. Google Meet links can be included when you want them.

Gmail signatures

Sync signatures from a school-wide template for staff and students, with room to override individuals when something different is required.

Google Workspace users

Add and remove users based on MIS membership, place them in the right organisational units, and align permissions and policies - including staged account suspension and lifecycle rules that fit year-end and leavers.

Classroom operations

Merge and copy classrooms, manage classes in depth, and align teaching groups across systems - without falling back to spreadsheets and one-off fixes.

Integrations & ecosystem

Connect HubSpot, Finalsite, OneLogin and other API-driven systems alongside your MIS - Fusion sits in the middle so data flows reliably between tools.

One interface, trust-wide search

View all of your classrooms in one place with advanced search across users and classrooms; apply changes at trust scale from a single coherent interface.

Annual rollover

Roll forward each academic year with confidence - onboard new cohorts, retire or transition old classrooms, and keep your estate consistent year on year.

Built for trusts

Designed for schools and multi-academy trusts that need repeatable processes across sites - standardise how systems connect and evolve as you grow.

FAQ

Does Fusion remove students as well as add them?

Yes. Fusion supports both "hard" and "soft" sync modes. In hard sync, students are added and removed automatically to match your MIS. In soft sync, students are only added.

Does Fusion remove staff/teachers as well as add them?

Yes - the same logic applies. In hard sync, staff are added and removed automatically. In soft sync, staff are only added.

Which teachers does Fusion sync add?

By default, Fusion syncs staff defined as the academic lead for each course. In addition, a central "super teacher" can be assigned, allowing full visibility and management of classrooms across the organisation.

Once enabled, does the sync only run for the current academic year?

Fusion syncs against the current academic year and keeps data up to date through scheduled re-syncs. Sync frequency and behaviour can be tailored to reflect how often your data changes. At year-end, Fusion provides a rollover mode, allowing you to preview upcoming classrooms and decide how they should be handled - including merging, renaming or reusing existing classes.

What is the Google Classroom naming convention?

Naming is fully configurable in Fusion and can be tailored to your organisation. Typically, it includes elements such as subject, set and teacher, depending on your MIS and preferences.

Can a teacher rename their Google Classroom?

No - manual changes will be reverted by the next sync. However, alternative naming approaches can be configured centrally if required.

How often does the sync run?

Typically twice per day, though this can be increased depending on your requirements.

Get Started with Fusion

From understanding your setup to go-live.

How we get you live

We start by understanding your setup and confirming how your data should flow between systems.

We then configure the integration and run a test sync so you can review exactly what will be created and updated. If anything needs adjusting, we refine it together.

Once you're happy, we agree the sync schedule and go live - after that, everything runs automatically.

Most setups are quick to get live, with more complex environments taking a little longer to validate properly.
