How North27 contributes beyond delivery - supporting school communities, reducing our environmental footprint, and maintaining robust safeguarding and governance.
Education is at the core of our work, and responsible delivery matters to us. Alongside our products and services, we aim to contribute positively to the sector we serve through community involvement, practical environmental choices, safeguarding, governance and responsible business practice.
This page summarises our approach to social value and our wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibilities.
Supporting school communities
Over time, our team has contributed to education in a range of ways beyond our core services. This has included supporting robotics clubs and competitions, offering work experience placements, and contributing to school activities such as productions, graduations and live streaming.
Members of our team have also served as STEM ambassadors, governors, trustees and mentors. Our involvement naturally evolves with capacity, but the purpose remains consistent: to support young people, strengthen school communities and contribute positively to the sector we serve.
Environmental responsibility
We take a pragmatic approach to reducing our environmental impact. This includes favouring recyclable materials where practical, such as in ID card production, reducing plastic use in packaging, and selecting environmentally conscious hosting providers where appropriate.
We recognise there are limits to what a business of our size can do, but we continue to look for sensible ways to reduce waste, make better choices and improve our environmental approach over time.
Safeguarding, data protection and governance
Working in education requires a clear focus on safeguarding and responsible governance. Team members working directly with schools hold appropriate enhanced DBS checks, and safeguarding awareness underpins how we operate.
Our work also requires strong standards around data protection, cybersecurity and the ethical use of technology. North27 is Cyber Essentials Plus certified, and we ensure appropriate agreements, including data processing arrangements, are in place with partners and platforms.
Responsible business culture
We also believe in building a sustainable and responsible business culture. Flexible and remote working has been embedded from the outset, supporting staff wellbeing, continuity and long-term resilience.
We work closely with a trusted network of partners and maintain long-standing relationships that reflect shared standards around quality, security and responsible practice.
